My name is Tracey Aycock, a fairly new Eanes Mustang to the pack. Before moving to Austin, I lived in Houston and was the head director of the Spring Branch Girls Choir for twenty two years . During my twenty four years of teaching in SBISD, I helped maintain the district’s Kodály-inspired curriculum, facilitated music technology training, and provided Kodály approach mentoring to student teachers throughout the state. I still work in Houston from time to time as a clinician and adjudicator for developing choirs and young singers in the Greater Houston area. I also sponsor numerous singers in all levels of the National OAKE Honor Choirs. I am a native Texan, and a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Lamar University with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and hold Kodály Certifications from Sam Houston State University and McNeese State University.
Singing has always been important to me. I have performed with the Houston Oratorio Society, Houston Masterwork Chamber Chorus, Congregation Beth Israel, and toured with Palmer Episcopal Church and Christ Church Cathedral. I have made life long friends from singing in choirs since elementary school.
However, the main thing I'd want you to know about me is that I love being in a music lesson with students. I hope all my students feel that our lessons are a safe place to be creative, artistic, cooperative musicians.
Thanks for helping make Eanes feel like home!
